C. David Naylor Student Commons

Located within the Medical Sciences Building, the C. David Naylor Student Commons is a flexible event space designed to bring people together. Opened in 2021 after a major renovation, the Commons combines classical architectural details with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light.

A Bright and Versatile Gathering Place

With seating for up to 150 guests—or standing room for 200—the Commons is ideal for receptions, poster presentations, media announcements, mixers and mid-sized club events. Its layout and ambiance make it well-suited for both professional gatherings and social celebrations.

The Commons has already hosted a wide range of events, including Accessibil-UT, a seminar and showcase on accessibility technology organized by the Department of Computer Science; classic film screenings with live Q&A sessions; student-alumni mixers; and club events ranging from 40 to 150 attendees.
